In this Lunch and Learn, European lawyer Sophia Bonne lays out the basics of intellectual property (IP) protection with a focus on the importance of trademarks and branding.

Sophia is senior adviser at the Customer Department, where she's involved with creating and developing the SME projects at the EUIPO.

She's also a Belgian lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in the IP area, including as litigator before the EUCJ and as a certified mediator. Before joining the EUIPO, she was attorney at law at a leading international law firm in Brussels.
