This program offers a comprehensive understanding of luxury brands, consumer behaviour, retail management, and the unique challenges faced by the luxury retail sector.

It's important to create a balanced mix of these class formats and activities to cater to different learning styles and provide students with a well-rounded understanding of luxury retail. Additionally, incorporating assessments and projects that reflect the skills and knowledge expected in the industry will help students prepare for their future careers.

By the end of this course, students will be able to: 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of luxury retail: Students will have comprehensive knowledge of the luxury retail industry, including its history, key players, and the unique characteristics that set it apart from other retail sectors
  • Analyse and predict consumer behaviour: Graduates will have the ability to understand the luxury consumer, predict their motivations and purchasing behaviour, and use this knowledge to tailor marketing and sales strategies accordingly
  • Curate and display luxury products: Students will be skilled in selecting, sourcing, and displaying luxury products in a visually appealing and enticing manner, creating an environment that resonates with the target luxury consumer
  • Optimise store operations: Graduates will be equipped to manage store operations efficiently, from layout and design to inventory management and client services. They will also excel in a personalised approach to customer service
  • Drive sales and foster client relationships: Graduates will have the skills to employ effective sales techniques, cross-sell, and upsell products
  • Execute effective retail marketing: Students will be proficient in crafting and implementing marketing strategies specifically tailored to luxury brands, including planning and executing promotional events and measuring marketing campaign effectiveness
  • Promote ethics and sustainability: Graduates will have a strong awareness of ethical considerations and sustainability in luxury retail, enabling them to make responsible decisions related to sourcing, production, and social responsibility
  • Presentation: Students will understand the benefits and significance of personal presentation, resilience and etiquette to succeed in a customer-facing position

On successful completion of the course, students will achieve the following qualification: Diploma in Fashion Business and Retail [UAL]
