The module provides students with an opportunity to upskill in topics of interest as part of their career development and equips students with industry-relevant skills and knowledge for effective practice in business settings.

The first unit is Business Strategy, which will develop student’s awareness of the different types of strategic approaches that could be used in operational, tactical, or strategic roles for an organisation. The second unit is Business Communications and Relationships, which will develop the student’s knowledge of approaches to negotiation, influencing and networking in a management/leadership context.

Students will acquire comprehensive sector-specific knowledge and practical skills through research, independent and directed study, and real-world workplace scenarios. They will also develop vocational behaviours and transferable skills, enabling them to apply their ideas, navigate complexity, explore solutions, and integrate theory with practice in diverse business contexts.

Upon achievement of the module, students will receive a Pearson certificate at Level 4 for the units completed as well as up to 30 UCAS credits. The credits achieved on completion of this module will be recognised as prior learning for enrolment onto the full-time HND in Leadership & Management (HTQ).
